The goal is to improve calf fattening, boost livestock production, and enhance the economic well-being of farmers.
Background of the Program
The Punjab Government officially started this program on November 1, 2024. It is a first-of-its-kind initiative in Pakistan that provides free cattle distribution to deserving women in rural areas, especially in South Punjab.
The government aims to support poor, widowed, and divorced women who have no stable source of income. With an initial budget of 2 billion rupees, the project will benefit around 11,000 women.
This program is managed by Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab and fully digitized by PITB (Punjab Information Technology Board). The online registration process for free animals ensures quick verification and hassle-free access to the loan. Farmers can apply online, check their loan status, and even contact 9211 support number for any queries.
